Occlusion of coronary vein grafts secondary to non-penetrating chest injury.

چکیده
Eighteen months after graft surgery to the posterior descending, circumflex, and left anterior descending coronary arteries, it seems that blunt chest trauma caused by a car accident resulted in occlusion of the grafts.

Morphologic changes in long-term saphenous vein bypass grafts.
A retrospective autopsy study was performed in 56 patients who had undergone saphenous vein bypass graft (SVBG) surgery 12 to 168 months prior to death. Twenty-five grafts had atherosclerosis, 66 grafts had fibrointimal proliferation, and 26 grafts were fibrotic with total occlusion. No significant differences were noted among the three morphologic groups with regard to age of the patient or nu...
متن کاملDetection of vein graft disease using high-resolution magnetic resonance angiography.
BACKGROUND The application of previous magnetic resonance (MR) angiography techniques has enabled noninvasive differentiation between patent and occluded coronary artery bypass grafts. However, the detection of graft stenosis remains difficult. The purpose of our study was to determine the accuracy of high-resolution navigator-gated 3-dimensional (3-D) MR angiography in detecting vein graft dis...
متن کاملLarge saphenous vein graft aneurysm with a fistula to the right atrium.
We report on a case of a 65-year-old man who was admitted for anterior chest pain on effort. He had received coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery 20 years ago with saphenous vein grafts (SVGs) to the left anterior descending artery (LAD) and right coronary artery (RCA). An angiography demonstrated large aneurysmal dilatation of both grafts and a fistulous communication between the mid...
متن کاملRoutine intraoperative angiography improves the early patency of coronary grafts performed on the beating heart.
OBJECTIVES The techniques of performing coronary revascularization without cardiopulmonary bypass are rapidly evolving. However, concern remains regarding the accuracy of coronary artery anastomoses performed on the beating heart. This report reviews the use of intraoperative angiography in the critical appraisal of "off-pump" coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. PATIENTS Intraoperati...
متن کاملAneurysm of a coronary vein graft.
1 of 2 DESCRIPTION A 75-year-old man with coronary bypass grafts presented with an episode of chest pain, transient lateral ST depression and 12-h troponin of 1 pg/ml. Angiography revealed severe native vessel disease, a patent internal mammary graft to the anterior descending, occlusion of a vein graft to the circumfl ex and an aneurysm in a vein graft to the right coronary artery. This was ap...
